FAIRFIELD, OHIO — A southwest Ohio high school was the scene of a fight between two 16-year-olds on December 11, and it appears it was planned.
In a video taken by one of three other students recording from the hallway, the instigating student walks into the assistant principal’s office at Fairfield High School, and starts berating a fellow student sitting down. When the principal tells the student to leave, the attacking student throws a punch at the seated student, and picks up one of the his legs to throw him to the floor.
Assistant principal Karin Hansee immediately tried to break up the fight, aided by an unnamed male staffer who bursts into the room and tackles the attacking student. The student that started the fight was arrested by police and later released to his mother, while the victim endured a bloody nose and lip.
The students recording the fight uploaded the video to Twitter, but it has since been taken down. They have also been disciplined for taking part in the bullying incident.
The fight was reportedly a result of a previous altercation that took place on December 8, according to ABC Newsnet5 in Cleveland. The victim’s mother is now trying to get her son into a different school, as this is just the latest in a series of confrontations he’s been faced with.
