Black Racism Vs. White Racism Pt 1 (Malveaux Talks)

This week’s installment kicks off a series of episodes dealing with the topic of racism. In Black Racism v. White Racism the viewer will be prepositioned with the fact that in its original incarnation racism had no inherent negativity attached to it. Beginning in the late seventeenth century the word racialism was used by anthropologist as well as other academics as a way of conveying a theory of demarcation in the development of the various types of human ethnicities known to the European. Indeed even other Europeans were subjected to the subdivisions of academics belonging primarily to the Anglo-Saxon, Nordic, and Teuton variety. Nevertheless as the word evolved into its present form of racism, now it is solely used as a way of describing the antagonisms that exists between the white and black people of the West and the colonial empires the European created from the ashes of conquest around the globe. Because the original definition of the word was not designed to be couched in the polemics and pathologies of negative contact between the racial demographics, the purpose of this video is to explore the fundamental differences between the two racism that black and white people on the whole practice. To begin with the racism of African Americans this can be categorized as the racism of experience while the other kind of racism, namely practiced by whites of the upper echelons, is the racism of the abstract.
